Project Summary:

Renovation of turn of the century bank building into elegant offices and retail use, including addition of one floor. The Citizen’s National Bank Building is located on the Pearl Street Mall within the historic downtown district of Boulder, Colorado. The mall facade represented one of the finest examples of historic architecture in the district. Adaptive reuse/rehabilitation of the building into retail/tenant spaces dictated the addition of a new floor. This was accomplished while preserving the historic integrity of the structure by stepping it back from the historic mall facade. The interior of the building had been destroyed and was completely renovated to reflect the elegance evidenced in the exterior facade. Awards: Award of Merit, Historic Boulder Preservation in Action, in recognition of distinguished accomplishments towards historic reservation, and with honorable credit given to endeavor of renovation, 1983.
